Steve's Liquor website is a full e-commerce website powered by Craft Commerce with over 3,000 products and 20,000 varieties of the database.
The brief required our developers to really push the limit of what was possible using Craft Commerce. We developed a customised version of the platform to fulfil the requirements as outlined in the brief for Steve's Liquor.
The project started in January 2019, and was officially launched in early May later that year.
Performance and efficiency
The website is directly linked with the client's own database, allowing it to instantly update stock numbers and stock locations on an hourly or daily basis.
Impressively, the system created by our development team can process a storage update for over 10,000 varies of items within one-tenth of a second.
Steve's Liquor is a Tasmanian based franchise that is rapidly expanding into mainland Australia. Inventories on stock are managed on a store-by-store basis, which added a technical challenge to our developers to create a website that took into account localised changes in stock, price, and orders placed.
As an example, everything from orders, shipping, payment, storage update, price, promotions, and even discounts all act differently among their independent stores.
Craft Commerce did not initially offer such a function to act on this micro level, however our developers were able to input a series of functions to allow the website to be tailored to the local store with ease.
Now, when a customer updates their store location, the content of the website will automatically update itself to show these different items prices, as well as accurately reflecting the available stock of that store.
Customers can seamlessly filter products from their store of choice through the use of JAMstack, which allows for not just quick filtering, but also eliminates the need for the page to be reloaded.
Not only is this delivering product options quicker and more efficiently, but it is also enhancing the user's experience, creating a better look and feel to the website overall.
We also customised google map to use the matching theme color with Steve's Liquor to maximise branding within website.
